Machine Weft, Genius Weft, Nano Tip or Flat Tip: Which Format Fits Your Look?

Every Tressence format is made from single-donor raw virgin human hair. Choose Natural Color for the original, uncolored base, or choose a blonde shade we have already professionally pre-lightened. Then choose how you want the hair installed.

Two formats are continuous wefts, while two use individual strands. All four come in Straight hair, seven lengths from 14 to 26 inches, and Natural Color, #60, #1001 or #1001A. Compare the attachment and pack size alongside the look you want.

Machine Weft: a continuous sewn edge

Machine Weft extensions have hair secured along a continuous sewn edge. Your stylist works with the weft as part of a row-based installation, planning the width, layers and placement around the look you want.

Choose this format when your installation plan calls for a traditional machine weft and you want to build coverage through rows. Each Tressence pack contains 100g. The number of packs for your look depends on your starting density, the desired length and how much fullness you want to add.

Genius Weft: a slim weft profile

Genius Weft is another continuous weft format, also known as Invisible Weft. Its slim edge gives your stylist a different profile to work with when planning a weft installation and layering the hair.

Each Tressence Genius Weft pack contains 50g. Compare total grams when planning an order: one 50g pack and one 100g Machine Weft pack contain different amounts of hair. A slimmer seam alone does not tell you how many packs your finished style will need.

Nano Tip: individual placement with fine metal tips

Nano Tip extensions come as individual strands with fine metal tips. The strands are fitted with small rings or beads, allowing the installer to plan placement strand by strand rather than across a continuous row.

Choose Nano Tip for strand-by-strand placement and a beaded attachment. Tressence Nano Tips are 1g per strand, with 100 strands in a 100g pack. The bead choice and installation pattern should suit the hair and the finished style.

Flat Tip: individual pre-bonded strands

Flat Tip extensions have individual strands with a flat, pre-bonded attachment. They are commonly used for fusion installation, giving the stylist a different attachment format from a Nano Tip ring.

Each Tressence pack contains 100 strands at 1g per strand, for 100g total. Talk through the attachment, removal and upkeep routine when choosing this method, especially if you are switching from wefts or beaded extensions.

Bring a photo of the finish you want and discuss where the extra hair should go. Placement, your own hair density and the final cut all affect the result. There is no one pack count or attachment method that fits every head of hair.
